I think it would have worked if it were (my god I don't remember use of the hypotetical verb...were or was?) tighter. Too space around the bird, while you could use the wings to throw the eyes to the corners. If you don't want to crop tighter...well...a 4/3 crop would fit, in order to give more space to the right and add movement.
