Nice shot dak1b, sometimes I think you have to take some calaculated risks to get what your after.

Rez, I prefer your edit, like you say a bit of grit, how did you go about getting that look?

Black and white layer, red filter, darkened quite a bit. Duplicate layer, filtered for high pass .3 pixels, blended in overlay. Fake vignette, made it round. Did some quick burning on the facial shadows.

I agree the orig is good as is... people like to edit stuff they find interesting. Hopefully OP takes the multiple edits as a compliment.

I don't care for the B&W as you loose the separation & the subject starts to merge with the background.

I agree, there's one thing off about the composition (in my opinion) the background is very colourful and distracting. I would've taken a much tighter shot if it were me.

If you look at the original, the shot is naturally selectively colored.

Are you sure hes not a Raiders fan on the wrong side of the bay.
