I am a little late on this, as it happened a few weeks ago, but wanted to share my results. I was skeptical with all this talk about the "blood moon" being red while in shadow during the eclipse. I used my 500mm and tripod and found that if I underexposed a bit the red really popped. No PP other than noise reduction, which I couldn't avoid because I had to shoot this at ISO 640 (Nikon d7100). Shutter speed 1/2 sec, f6.3.
Nice shot! I setup to try and get a shot, read a bunch of stuff online beforehand and ended up with blurry messes for photos when it was all said and done. Stuff that looked perfect through the viewfinder ended up just terrible. Not sure if it was camera shake or what. Kinda disappointed I ended up with nothing
