Not affiliated with them in anyway, but just ordered my first print from them and it absolutely gorgeous. Had it printed on metallic paper w/ luster coating, and just sat and looked at it for 10 mins. I highly recommend them if you're needing anything printed.

You now, and a few thousand other forum members recommend them.

They print a lot of photos, so the law of averages comes into play and every once in a while a print or some other product they make isn't up to snuff, but their customer service is exemplary and they just take care of it in a professional manner as long as the customer communicates with them.

Agreed. Had a piece of mine in an auction about a month ago, printed on metallic paper from Mpix. Turned out absolutely wonderful

Mpix is definitely the best of the big box print shops. For a big company, they tend to have good customer service and good quality work.

I'm not trying to say anything bad or take anything away from this post, but anytime I see recommendations like this one, I always like to jump in and just remind people that it may be worthwhile to take just a few minutes and do a quick google search for a small, LOCAL print shop in your area. Most likely, there are a couple of small print shops in your area, and in most cases you're going to get even better quality from a small print shop, and you're going to get alot more personalized, one-on-one service. Usually, smaller print shops are also very competitive in pricing. If you don't SAVE money over a big company, you'll at least pay the same, but get some great personal service, and they're local, so you don't have to worry about shipping.

No offense to those big companies out there, but, especially now, more than ever, small businesses really need the support of their local clientele. In this economy, small businesses are getting gobbled up left and right, so, do your part and help keep us small business owners in business! :-)

Out in the boonies where I live, there's the drug store (yuck), print it yourself, and and ordering by mail. I thought my printer was pretty good until I ordered from Mpix. The only drawback to Mpix is the postage, so I wait and do a couple orders a year. The quality is outstanding, and they've been able to adjust the color on pictures I'd worked on forever and given up. I have a metallic print of early light at Bryce Canyon from them I've stared at for a lot more than ten minutes!

yup... used to do my own printing severalmyears ago.. Now mpix takes on that role and time which i really dont have much of.

My luck, I recommended them to a friend and her first print had a problem. I felt awful as I was talking so highly of them and evem showing my own prints. MpIx rectified the problem so promptly and quickly, we were surprised..

I use them a lot. I have had my share of sub-par work arrive at my door from them. But, their customer service is good, so I continue to use them. Sometimes I wonder if they even have a QA department - some of them were that bad, obvious printing errors, etc...

BUT - Every time I have had an issue, they fixed it for free. And fast too.

90% of the time, they do just fine. The other 10%, the excellent customer service makes up for it.

FWIW - all of my issues have been with large (expensive) items. 4x6 prints are always perfect. Those 20x20 gallery wraps or standouts though - their average hasn't been so good with me. They did make it right though.

I don't think I would trust them enough to drop ship to a customer though.
