Blown Out - but wanted to share

Had to snap before we can put the shades down - converted to BW to offset some of the blown out background

Hey Rosy... how did you light this? The shadow under his lower lip is pretty strong. The highlight in his eyes doesn't look like flash, but that highlight also doesn't look like what is causing the lip shadow.

Used properly to match the background exposure to the subject exposure, flash would have helped immensely!

I did use flash/on camera with a diffuser. I think what you are pointing out are part of the effects I used in CS5, one of those you download. I fisrt converted to black and white then I used that action - Grunge it, i think it's called. I'll try to post the unedited one

from a rigid do photography right I like the second one u posted here better, but from a artistic standpoint think the first one has more character, the texture on his skin feels a bit heavy tho which i like, makes him look like a grown man baby. (NO OFFENSE TO WHOSEVER BABY THT IS, he's beautiful.)

I thought the colored one would really highlight the blownout background. Comparing them both now, it doesn't seem that bad.

I like the color one better too. Did you shoot Raw? Maybe you can bring a little detail back on his hair. He has beautiful eyes.
