Autofocus doesn't solve all problems, in fact it can create a whole new batch. At least with manual focus you know what your focusing on. With autofocus the camera does make mistakes from time to time or just refuses to focus at all. I've got lots of shots about like that using autofocus.

Well.. up the shutter speed..

that of cause wont fix the out-of-focus part..
