Blurry "flowers" - western edition!

Howdy,

Here in these parts, we like things a little bit prickly! But for those sissy folk out east, I managed to soften up these here yucca for ya'll.

I think shots 1 and 3 are pretty good. Very expressive and free-feeling. I LOVE the way you have handled the shallow depth of field in both of those shots! I am not overly fond of the second photo. The third shot is really a nifty bokeh shot...the exceedingly shallow DOF is handled very well in that last frame!

What lens was used for these? Is this that older, Chinon 55/1.4 in m42 mount, or what???

Yes. It's the Chinon/GAF. Bokeh-wise it's pretty good - a little harsh with the wrong background, but about equal to my Minolta 50/1.7, but less swirl-prone. And, it's much sharper.

It's december! And you know full well, partnah, that yucca is only in bloom for about six weeks in the spring!

i don't need good looks for the same reason I don't need expensive gear.

because I'm inherently better than everyone else.

I don't even necessarily need photographic ability. The only reason I even expose properly is so that you don't get jealous.

It is good that you don't need these things! Being inherently better is much better than having those things. Being totally delusional is even better yet, as you can believe you are inherently better than anyone else, even if lacking the skills that would needed to make that a true statement..! You should go into politics... I think you would do well! lol!
