Quick question, I just acquired a new telephoto lens and would like to go shoot some birds. I am in Los Angeles area. Can you show me how to get to Bolsa Chica and are there any entrance fee? Do you also other places for birding?

Thanks,

Hi Wackii! Sorry for the late response. From Los Angeles - From the 405 or 22 Freeways, take the Bolsa Chica exit south to Warner Avenue. Turn right on Warner Avenue to PCH. Turn left at PCH.

It might just be me, but they looks overexposed. Especially they first one. At the very least, they look like they were shot in harsh midday light.

I do like the compositions, aside from the first one, and the focus is nice.

Thank you Bo4key. I will see if I can bring it down a notch. I appreciate the comments :)

Hi Wackii - thank you for liking #2 :) --- There is no entrance fee for Bolsa Chica Wetlands. We also enjoy San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary in Irvine (no admission) - Irvine Regional Park ($5.00 admission on weekends except if you have an OC Parks pass) --- Laguna Niguel Regional Park ($5.00 admission except if you have an OC Parks pass) or you can park at the nearby shopping center and walk in for free. Might also want to check out Shipley Nature Center in Huntington Beach (it is worth a quick stop on your way to Bolsa Chica perhaps ---- and Im taking the liberty of posting a few links for you to check out. Since you are up in LA area I would type in your search engine "places for bird watching" and go from there. We are lucky to be in California to have year round access to wildlife. Happy birding Wackii !

Great places to go birdwatching, bird pictures and photos
