Of course, I had to stop at Bosque during last month's road trip through New Mexico. I'm glad that I allocated a few days for the reserve as two of the three days were a complete wash out. I didn't even bother going into the reserve on one of the days as there was no chance for any sun at all--just drizzle. The first couple of days were also frustrating in that I just didn't see as many birds as I had hoped. There were very few at the places that I visited last time: Flight Deck and the Crane Ponds.

However, the beauty of staying in a place long enough is that there's a better chance of getting some good light eventually. I was very pleased with the lighting during the late afternoon of my last day at the reserve. Here are some of my favorites:

2- Snow geese form an S curve...I also enjoy photographing S curves in nature!

3- I witnessed several synchronized flight patterns!

What a great set! And that last one is a reminder that birds are cousins to dinosaurs! It really has a timeless feeling.

Awesome captures! :icon_thumleft:

All wonderful. I’m partial to silhouettes so love that last one and also really love #4

Very nice set. I especially like the sandhill cranes and #7 is my favorite for the background alone, nice capture/composition.

Very nice set!
