Canon 24-105 F4L IS

Look out!

Here are a few samples, to compare to the prime:

I took a few photos with my new 24-105. These are just practice, getting to know the camera, etc. Nothing special yet.

Thoughts on IQ on both - what do you think of yours, if you own both or either?

thanks...

I love this lens. I will love it even more when I purchase it. Do you find it is wide enough?

Is it easy to handle? I purchased the 24-70 in November and am still having a hard time with the weight since I'm so used to my 50mm and 85mm primes.

Sarah - so far, I've only taken cat pictures. haha. I won't know if it's wide enough until I walk around with it. My only other lens is the 35mm, so it's wid-ER which is good...

DDM - so far, so good. It weighs roughly the same as my 35mm, so I don't notice a difference...

Congrats! My 24-105 is one of my 3 favorite lenses. It is my general purpose walk around lens, it's lightweight and the IQ of this lens is superb. Have fun with yours.

Congrats!!!

I sold off 10 Canon EF lenses and brought it down to just two. The 24-105L was/is a joy to use as a walk around that it was one of three that survived the auction block.

To those comparing it the 24-70.... its easier to handle... not as fast... wider focal range. Not a low light performer but a much better general/walk around lens than the 24-70. Use the nifty fifty for low-light and the 24-105L for everything else.

You are hooked now...nothing short of L glass will ever be good enough again
