So I just sent a message to a guy I've had a crush on for the past year asking if he's a bass. And he hasn't responded. And it's really awkward and stuff.![]()
The problem here is that you're going after a fresh water fish. If things don't work out, the expression "plenty of other fish in the sea" won't apply. Sure there are other fish in the pond too, but a lot less of them. Next time try going after a grouper, cod or other ocean-dwelling fish; you'll have much better odds if your first fish doesn't bite.

There is the Chilean Sea Bass, which isn't a bass at all (Patagonian toothfish) and the name change was a marketing ploy that has nearly made the fish extinct. Otherwise, there is the Striped Bass. Other sustainable alternatives would be Halibut, Cod, Haddock, Sable Fish, Snapper and even Grouper.
