Thing with selective coloring its tacky. Whats worse is that most people don't know how to do it correctly. If you're going use it, you want to make sure the entire subject is colored not part of the subject. Which means, the boy and the mini atv should be all in color, not parts of them color and parts b&w. Try that and respost.

I think its matter of taste. personnally i dont like selective coloring period.

I will agree that it's a matter of taste, I find alot of things are a matter of taste. I will also agree with this shot I would rather see the entire boy in color, find it a bit strange that his amrs, legs and head are in b/w. Just my $.01 (I don't even have $.02)

I like the way it is. I chose the colours intentionally. I have no intention of changing a thing about it.

Strictly trying to show how this child matches his toy. I tried it all in colour in the past...and I just didn't like it. So thank you for your suggestions, but I think I'll pass.

I like the idea of selective coloring for this shot (especially if it's just a shot for you). The only thing I would change would be to put the boy in all color. With the bike and the clothes just in color my attention is drawn down to the atv instead of the fun on his face. However, adding the selective coloring helps him stand out from the busy background

LOL I actually didn't like the expression on his face in this picture. The other ones were a lot better (more excited) this was the only one of him standing though. It looks a lot cuter with him standing! LOL
