Braes O' Killiekrankie

Had some great light and fog this morning in a fantastic location. Unfortunatley I had some work to do and had to finish that first, though I managed a few shots afterwards even though the light wasn't quite as nice. I seem to see all the great shots at the wrong time! Anyway this is the only one I've edited yet and thought it probbably had the most potential. What do you think?

I like it ... I can see the orcs hidden in the fog just about to attack the unsuspecting farmers

The title may seem tame, however it's named after an old folk song dating from the 1700s which tells of the battle fought near here in the 1689 Jacobite Rebellion. Government troops met the Jacobites (led by "Bonnie Dundee") at the pass of Killiekrankie. The Jacobites won but Dundee was killed during the battle. The song pours scorn on the Government troops, here is a wee verse:

"I faught at land, I faught at sea,
At hame I faught my Auntie, O;
But I met the Devil and Dundee
On th' braes o' Killiecrankie, O"

So it's much worse than Orcs in that fog, it's Jacobities!

I've had a few comments like that and I've noticed a lot of my edited photos look a bit like paintings myself. I'm still deciding on whither it's a bad thing, whither it's just my style or whither I'm going overboard trying to compensate for sharpness and really need to save up for a new lens. Mibbie I should borrow my dads 24-70mm L series but I'm a bit afraid I'll get L disease and not be able to afford the cure!
