Found myself down in Leicester last weekend doing dad duties. Had a bit of spare time during the day and found thee awesome Brandon Wetlands Nature Reserve, liked it so muuch I spent the next day there too! Here's the highlights:

Thanks mate! Yeah it was a dead tree beside one of the hides and had some really cool structure to it. reminds me a bit of driftwood.

Thanks mate! Yeah it was pretty awesome to see. I've only ever seen them once before in the wild years ago but it was just a blue streak flashing over a river. it was perched just as we came into the hide and flew off shortly afterwards but we waited about an hour and it returned again. really good to see.

These are great. I've not seen any Kingfishers in my neck of the woods this season, will have to out more I guess.
