These shots were taken at Braunston Marina, Daventry, Northamptonshire. It was a fairly cold morning at about -4 with hardly a breath of wind. I'd appreciate any feedback and comments.

#s 2 & 3 seem not to have a subject.

By way of clarifying what I mean I will tell you why I like the others.

#1 has well-defined lines, a central point of interest, leading lines, and we can find plenty of interesting objects upon which to settle our eyes and do some thinking.

#4 is primarily about tone and texture, with the leading line of boats going off into the distance.

#5 is likewise interesting in its variety of tone and texture, and gives us the point of reference of the bridge in the distance.

BTW: #3 is obviously not straight, so remember to straighten every shot that you intend to show to someone.

Also; 5 shots in one thread is a lot to be asking for a critique. My preference is one per thread, unless you wish to compare two shots.

I agree about the subject, you need to know what exactly your subject is what it is you want to show us and then focus the pic as such that we get it.
