If you had asked me last week, I would have told you I knew exactly what was going to happen. I thought Jesse was going to break out and kill Walt.

Now I'm starting to think Walt is going to deal with Gretchen and husband and then try and save Jesse. But who knows

What surprised me was that Todd killed Emily just like that. I thought he was either just trying to threaten Jesse or kidnap Emily to make Jesse cook.

I was so sad about that!! I really thought Jesse was going to kill Walt as well. I sort of think Jesse is going to make it somehow....

Todd is a really interesting character. Did you see the smirk on his face when Jesse was recanting the tale of Todd shooting that little kid? Creeeepy.

That sounds like the ending in Godfather 2, Michael dies alone, not surrounded by any family which was the entirety of his life. Maybe Vince Gilligan is a fan? Mm mm, can't wait for finale.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Gilligan is a fan of those movies and has taken "inspiration" from them in writing Breaking Bad. You might be on to something.

I wasn’t crazy about the Dexter finale either. I will say though, I read an interview with the show runners after seeing the finale where they explained the writing choices they made, and it kind of made sense.

My main beef wasn’t so much “how it ended” from a story perspective, but rather, the multiple ridiculously implausible things that they piled up in the last 20 or so minutes to tell that story. I mean, sure, from day 1 the show has always required the viewer to suspend disbelief in exchange for entertainment, but I can only take so much before it starts to seriously detract from the experience.

My favorite character in the whole show is Saul Goodman. He's literally the only character who has rational logic and sticks by it. Most of the characters in the show act upon emotional reactions no matter how they appear to be rational. For example, Walt seems to have a very clear reason for doing what he did (family), but it's really about his ego and frustration that he never became the great and successful Scientist that he felt he deserves to be. Jesse wants to do what's right, but he's not being rational about it and ended up getting himself into all sorts of troubles. Hank is full of ego, needless to say. Marie acts like she's all about righteousness but she's the one who's addicted to stealing. Skyler screwed up way too many times to have any credibility, even thought she's trying to get things right in the later part of the series. Oh and Walt Jr...... he's all about breakfast.

So far Saul is the only guy who's able to walk away from all this mess relatively unharmed. At least he's gone to Nebraska, not Belize.

All done! Nice and tidy and satisfying if you ask me. Morbid as it may be, I'm glad Jesse got to choke Todd out with his own hands. Looked like he enjoyed it a little.

I was wrong on the Ricin. Dammit. I hate being wrong.

He strapped a bomb to the wheelchair of a disabled man living in a nursing home and blew up drug lord Gus.

And Gus walked out with half his head missing before he fell down dead.

He detonated a bomb....in a nursing home...

After that...I think I can forgive all the "minor" implausible situations in later episodes including the flurry of things that happen in the last episode.

I think they gave the most satisfying ending they could. There are few, if any, loose ends. It feels concluded.

EVERYONE DIES!!!!!!!!!! Well Jesse was gonna walk right from the beginning. He's the most liked character in the show.
Not sure if this is all that satisfying to me.... actually, I've been watching this long enough that it started to wear on me. What I thought was a little unsatisfying was that Walt used a method that isn't his forte to kill those bastards in the end.
He bombed Tuco with his chemistry magic, and did the same to Gus, all in spectacular manners. Walt's not known for mechanical ingenuity so he's not a macgyver. Therefore to me, the machine gun op was a bit out of place.

I agree... I thought the gun thing was one of the dumbest things I've seen on the show. It just smacked a bit too much of deus ex machina to me.

Still, it's a minor grumble in the large scheme of things. Breaking Bad was a fantastic series and one of my all time favorites, hands down.

The only thing that bothered me was the awkward moment when Walt accuses white power guy of "Partnering" with Jesse, so he feels the need to prove that he's a captive rather than a partner. That was a stretch at best.
