Why do you want more exposure on a black, detailess dumpster? Just curious.

Sure, a picture can be partially about something that is black. Not criticizing, simply asking why you want the dumpster brighter.

Because you gave it importance with the title of this topic. The dumpster may be black, but it is not without detail and texture. In the edited picture below, I brought out some of that detail and lowered the detail and exposure of the cars. It's not perfect because I don't have advanced skills in LR or PS and I didn't want to spend too much time on it. But the edit does show a different possibility.

My apologies for those reading this post and not seeing an image above. I delete edited images like this from my server after a short period of time.

My question though was why does it need more detail and texture? As in in asking why do important things need detail and texture?

I'm not saying it's right as is, just asking why something can't be important and left in shadow?

Normally I'd say because if it's in shadow people won't notice it, but I think the leading lines take care of that here, allowing for a darker object than can normally be gotten away with.

I wasn't debating you. I never said you were wrong, I simply asked you why it should be brighter. I appreciate the feedback.
