Brooks Island Eagles

[4rum]

This nest is a measured (by the local Avian Center using a high tech military ranging telescope) 1/4 quarter mile away from the overlook where I took this photo. The nest has been in continuous use for well over 20 years. I have photos of it in 2005 and it was huge then. It's the approximate size of a VW beetle, maybe a bit larger. This is about a mile or mile and a half from my home. Photo is hand held using my Nikon D7500, glass is a Tamron 16-300mm. Photo is absolutely cropped. A lot!

Hey great to get a shot regardless of how far away.

Yes. I've taken hundreds of shots of Bald Eagles. It's still a thrill each and every time.
