Bubble counter

Just recently got my first camera, so been doing some experimenting and playing around to get the hang of things.

In other words, go easy on me

I would like to see the bubble counter fill almost the entire frame with the gauges serving as the background.

Is this setup for a planted aquarium?

Yes it is!

Thought it was a rather neat looking piece of equipment.

I think I can sorta see what you're getting at there, but I would have to crop it. I'm just using the kit lens and don't believe it can focus that close.

I'll give it a shot though.

They are interesting. I also have one of these (from aquariumplants.com). Unfortunately, it's collecting dust in a closet and awaiting a new aquarium.

Try moving yourself closer and experimenting? I'm still a newb, so me giving any further advice is like the blind leading the blind.

Well, it's not exactly what you suggested, but it's closer.

So when's the new aquarium scheduled for? How big? And when can we expect pictures of all the pearling plants? Come on, you know you wanna, just do it.

The new aquarium isn't scheduled for quite awhile. I'm moving to NOLA in June 2011, so that will dig deep into the budget. I'm planning at least a 75 gallon FW Amano-style planted aquarium, Manzanita wood, Eco-Complete substrate (black) because I had success with it in a 30 gallon long and several 10 gallons, 5 gallons, and 2.5 gallon planted tanks, and a whole lotta plants. The new tank will house mostly different shrimp species like vampire shrimp, bamboo shrimp, and several other species. I'm a shrimp addict at heart, and some of my fish geek friends call me the Crazy Shrimp Lady.
