Budget cam better than iPhone5s?

I do green screen filming.

I film with my iPhone 5s. I think the quality is pretty good, but I'm wondering if there is any camera/camcorder out there (under $250) that can get the quality to be even crisper.......or, would I just be wasting my money.

I was contemplating the Canon VIXIA HF R600 or Nikon COOLPIX L840.......but, if there's really nothing under $250 that can improve the quality over the 5s, then I'll just stick with the 5s.
