Bugz time!

My extension tube has arrived today. I spent the entire afternoon running back and forth on a meadow. The extension tube is quite a bit different to use than a tele lens with the Raynox 250 I used to shoot with. Here are a few shots. Some C&C would definitely help. The subjects aren't very interesting. Guess it's too early for some types of bugs, what I found mostly were some young flies and spiders.

Shot with my Canon 1000D and a Helios 58mm f2 lens, the aperture was set to f5.6 and f8 but don't ask me what the effective aperture actually was, probably more like f11-f13. Lighting - pop up flash diffused by a piece of paper towel. I've already got some ideas for improving the lighting, I'll see how it comes out.

Not bad. Focus is good.
What aperture was used ?

I am still waiting for the bugs to wake up here.

I used f5.6 and f8, can't tell which one was used in each photo as it was shot with M42 glass, so there's no EXIF data from the lens. The effective aperture was probably a stop or two smaller because of the extension tubes.
