Bumble bee (plus newly calibrated monitor)

This little fellow was almost too heavy for the flower he was on...

I recently bought spyder2 express and calibrated my monitor and I wondered how this looks. and and any other C and C welcomed.

First layer original, second layer, high pass filter set to soft light and reduced opacity to sharpen just the bee and third layer vinyetting.

Taken with my canon 30d sigma 70-300 apo
DG Macro lens, Hand held. at 1/500 f5.0 190mm manual mode

I don't know a whole lot, but it looks pretty good to me. I don't understand the layering yet, I hope to learn.

Yamadak13 thanks -I love playing with photshop making tweakes here and there, there are tons of things on line and in magazines and books that will help you learn, dont worry

I think i agree with the fact that its a tad too dark rach. and i think you got the focus off just a bit as it seems to be soft, and your shutter speed wasnt that long so not camera shake.
