Hi everyone, a photo of a Bumble Bee feeding on a Buddleia globossa flower in my garden. I used a Nikon D70 with a Sigma 70-300mm macro, set at 300mm. Shutter speed 1/160 sec, at f/8.

Nice little bee, I can see the fuzzy hairs.

wonderful shot

Love the color contrast. A real keeper.

That's a very cooperative bee to sit still for ya like that ;) jk. I like it a lot. How far away were you?

Hi guys,
I took the image in june last year when my Buddleia globossa was in flower. I had my sigma 70-300mm lens set to macro and would have been about two to three feet away. The flowers are less than an inch across.
These bees move around so quickly i find i have to take a lot of shots to get one really good one.

great shot, amazing detail.

my only nitpic is also on the comp/crop. i would have liked to seen the whole blossom included in the comp. maybe a vertical crop would help?

regardless, its a very nice capture.

nice detail in that shot
