Nice! That's one of the birds I'd most wanted to see when I was down there last winter, but I never managed to be where they were.

I'd never noticed, because I think you don't often see photos of them at just that angle, but in those last three photos, especially the next-to-last one, it looks like it was cropped off at the end. Not the photo, but the bird, like it should just somehow have more tail back there. It just looks like the bird cuts off before it's quite done.

It's a young one and the feathers seem to be coming still. But I don't think the tail will get much longer.

True the eyes do look similar but these are way smaller than Snowy Owls.
