Burst of Colour

I feel much better now. Took a long walk this morning along Torontos Spadina Avenue from Front to College and took over 200 images. This is one of the main stretches of China Town but this first post will consist of images from Kensington Market, which is just east of Spadina. It has been many years since I wondered the streets of Kensington and I cant help but want to go back tomorrow. Open markets and colourful architecture make it a photographers paradise as you can see. No B/W conversions here.

i can not believe there is such a colorful place....! a friend of mine lives in toronto... i think i am gonna have to visit for sure....great color eric....almost surreal....

there is an exaggerated color contrast in the photos that I like. Is it just the time of day or do you push the saturation or contrast? Some of the skies look like a polarizing filter. I like these and would like to know how to do similar work. Want to share?

The wait for your photo's was worthwhile. I will likely be in Toronto in the summer for a day or two, looking at your photo's makes me anxious to go, very inspiriing. I know I will be looking at these pictures many times as I always do with your posts.

Shooting in the morning really helps if there is a bright sun. For these types of images I use the vivid setting on the D-70 and boost the contrast by 20%. Usually I tighten the levels but these shots did not need it as there was already good contrast. I try to do as little as possible to most of my images.

I would love to hook up with anyone coming to Toronto to shoot but keep in mind I work days and most summer weekends I'm off to aviation events. The walk I took yesterday is very highly recommended. The best would be two walks, one early in the morning and one late in the day to get the sun on both sides of the streets.

I have a D70, it's about a month old, I may never pick up a film camera again. I haven't tried the vivid setting but your work show me I have too, thanks.

When my dad was here, I took him to this board!
Oh yes, he has indeed been here, and has "seen you". Well, I said "There are some very good photographers who send in marvellous photos, let's go find someone through the search-button, and I will look for 'AIRIC'". Which I did. And hey, was my dad impressed! He went "Wow" and "Wow" and "No magazine picture can compete with these" all the time! By then these here were not even up! He'd carry on raving, I think, if he were still here.
We agreed that your black borders help in enhancing your frames and colours a lot! You didn't go wrong with these, either! Wow. Wow. Wow! (And you're having a new fan, mind!!!) (and an old one
