Definitely, but I think with a coloured wash, it might work; blue tones might suit.

Somehow I think of Brahm’s response when someone remarked that parts of his First Symphony sounded like Beethoven: “Any asshole could hear that.” (He had been in awe of Beethoven, and that was the only way he could bring himself to write a symphony after him. He wasn’t trying to hide what he did at all.) I know your work and don’t believe the exposure and contrast were a technical mistake. What were you going for in this image? It didn’t work for me either, but I think we in the area of experimentation or artistic vision.

Maybe if you`d just had the butterfly in colour it might of worked, but do agree on the contrast.
