The top half of the image looks like a purple flower in the foreground, post processed into a mighty blur, though I'm probably wrong. Either way, I'm not looking at the subject.
Watermarks should only really be used when the quality of the work is outstanding, and runs the risk of someone stealing it. It's a nice photo but i don't think someone would steal it.
Yes watermarks are out friends, but there are better ways to add them than right through the center of the image. If someone wants your image bad enough, watermark or not they will get it. YOu would be better to make the mark off the main subject and more visible so that is is not confused with part of the image.
I agree that the blur at the top is somewhat distracting.
