buying new lens...questions

Hello. I just bought my first camera and i'm now looking for a new lens. Has anyone purchased from hunts photo and video before? One of their used lenses that I was considering is a great price, but in the description it says: "Lens has a touch of play in the external front lens collar when extended." I'm new to this, so I'm not really sure what that means, can someone help me out? Is this a big problem or just a minor inconvenience?

Welcome, i'm relatively new compared to many in this community. I don't know that company, but I will say I highly recommend renting a lens before purchasing one, whether it's a used or not. Major purchases like that for good glass are worth the money to try out.

Hunts photo and video in the New England area? Yeah, I've purchased from them before. It depends on who's working the counter when you go in, as there are plenty of times where the employees straight up don't know what they're talking about. Their prices are generally a bit high, but I hear that they price match online outlets.

What that description means is that when fully zoomed in, the zoomed section wiggles a little bit (that's what they mean by play). Probably not a deal breaker, but I would want to slap the lens on my camera and try it out first.
