i actually liked this one quiet a bit

some light to the other side of the face & a bit more grit would have made the shot though imo

Technically, I like the picture. The shadows on her left are a bit 'jarring', but I can live with it given the conditions you were shooting in.

Where I have a problem - and it's probably something that others will think 'makes the picture' - is that to me, candlelight evokes either a somber mood (e.g. church service) or a romantic mood. The smirk on the first girl, and the smile on the second, go against my expectations.

(They do make the picture 'interesting', though.)

Whole thing looks a little too gray for my taste!

Adding a little contrast, As seen above, would make the whole thing a lot more dramatic!
I did that in seconds in ps using the curves adjustment and making a pretty strong s, with the highlights side staying relatively a lot closer to the starting point.
Edit: I might have gone a little too dark, after a second look. But you get the idea

Composition is wonky IMO. It reads like it should be a portrait but with the additional background elements makes it distracting to the eye.
