im nowhere near a professional but I'm trying to get there. Shot with 2 promaster 300c mono lights and a 580 ex ii for some hair light. shot on canon 5d mk ii with 24-70 f2.8 L.

I think the hair light is a bit strong and harsh and the shoes and little boy shins detract from the impression.
His expression is great and that's what makes the picture.
The shoes and shins draw attention and dilute the impact - and make it silly rather than satire.
