I was trying to show how fierce and "blinding" headlights can be even when turned off

Just trying to make my friends car look cool

#1 has a hell of a glare in the windshield. Are you using any sort of lens filter?? I can't remember what the name is, but its highly recommended for car-shoots....im sure someone will be around to enlighten me (us) with the name!

The lighting in #1 is not good. Unfortunately, there is no contrast between the foreground and background so the car blends in.

#2 is better. It might be the ****ty monitor that I'm on right now, but the blue looks over saturated. Also, this would be much more interesting if taking from a very low point of view. Eye level is boring, and I find that the most interesting car photos are taking from very low or high POVs. Also, a lower POV would remove the street in the background which I find necessary in this picture. Lastly, try to avoid centering your subject. Have the car take up the left 2/3rds of the photo and you might be more pleased with your photos.

So, I actually looked at this on my ipad and the photos look better. Still, I think you could have used a slower shutter speed than 1/1000 which would have given you some more light.

#1. The background sucks. There is no contrast between the headlight and BG as has been mentioned already. The headlight should be razor sharp for a picture such as this to work. I would also either crop to or shoot in portrait orientation to get more of the foglight area in the frame. It is also underexposed and would have benefited greatly from a circular polarizing filter.
Example (using circular polarizing filter):

#2. Get lower or higher. Never be at standing level. Car's just aren't as exciting at standing level because people see them at that level every. single. day. Also looks slightly underexposed and would have benefited from a circular polarizer as well.
PS: I urge you to tell your friend that those wheels suck.

Using a polarizer filter would help cut glare down on the glass.

I suggest using it.
