Child photography is very difficult specially for novice photographer. Uploaded only four pictures. Anyway, Beautiful pictures and can be framed.

#3 is my favorite, that look in his eyes is priceless!

Is the stars in 1# and the pacifier in 3# the main subject?
If not, why have you selectively colored them thus drawing the viewers eye to those instead of the baby?

I think 3# would work well in b/w only, as requested by the mom.

#3 is the only one i would say is a near keeper but that is a bit soft, for B+W try new adjustment layer/channel mixer click monochrome and try red 68% green 24% and blue 8%

these are very nice. i'd be careful with selective color, unless it's something you really want to draw attention to.

i'd love to see some different poses going on. although with infants, it's not always easy without a poser.

as for the mom requesting only black and what, IMO you should show Mom some of these in b&w AND color. she might not know how nice they can come until she see's them!

nice work!

It looks like you had the camera set to monochrome, rather than shooting in color and coverting to B&W post process.

The B&W photos lack contrast, the holy grail of B&W photography.

In a lot of ways making a really good B&W photo is a lot harder than having the final version in color.

If you're going to stick w/ selective color for #3, maybe try allowing color in the baby's eyes. I bet he's got big beautiful blue ones. It might increase the cheesy factor + 1, but its worth a shot.

Sorry but these shots do not make good B+W

wow gsgary.. im impressed. You arent as harsh nowadays. What the heck happened man? Hahaha.

3 is probably my favorite. altho selective color is something i dont personally do and would definitely tweak with contrast a little. maybe a levels layer but thats just me. i've found that when shooting for a mother. just do what she likes best.

I would show her one with the eyes blue as well.

I don't like the first one at all. The other three are ok and the follow up post shots are all ok. The first one, just looks, well, like it's lifeless so kinda creepy. I didn't even notice the selective coloring at first because of that. I like the second set of three better than 2-4, with the #7 being my favorite.
