First of all... I am not new to taking pictures, but then again i am also not a PRO. I came to the site to learn more about photography and to get better at it

Here is my background:
I have always liked taking pictures and one day i decided i would go pick up a DSLR to learn more about it. So i went out and picked up a Canon xti... it was a great camera while it lasted, I had it for about 1yr or so and i lost my job at the time and had to sell some of the toys to get by and get some bills paid. After started getting back on my feet, i picked up a Nikon D5000 which i enjoyed a lot... felt like it was easier for me to grasp the controls on a dslr... fast forward, got a chance to go back into the Canon game and got a Canon 50D, took some great ( for my taste and others) and then sold it for a little more then what i got it for... so i ws like what the heck, why not? I can always upgrade.. now im looking for a new camera and im considering getting back into the Nikon as after looking at my old pics, my shots were clearer, so now im debating on a D300s or a D7000... i dont feel the need for a fx camera, so i cant justify the d700 price over the 2 previously mentioned cameras..

Thank you for the Comments guys in advance.... now on to the pics

There are wayyy to many picctures here. You're not going to get very many people to C&C your work. Try keeping it down to two pictures, or three at the most. You will get more people to look at it, and also they can spend more time on them.
Just for future referecnce. BTW The Pictures look good, just way to many to C&C

thank you.... i took out one of the replies and left just the first batch

1 looks underexposed to me.
2 should have less room over the head and the hands should not be chopped off at the bottom.
3 the man is lost in the darkness of the land across the water and the photo is heavy on the left. Should have asked him to move to the right to balance the photo more.
4 is nice but could have been cropped a bit closer on the main subject or wider to show the side buildings a bit more.
5 is very good. Maybe PP the hair off her eye but that it just me. I like it a lot other than that.

I am by NO MEANS a professional or even a decent amateur. That is just my thoughts on these.

#2 kind of bothers me, ask your subject to step at least 3-4 feet off of the background so that the shadow cast isn't so harsh :)

thanks guys... this is the kind of critique that i need!!! :)
