C&C, Please. Children! Dead Ducks!

I snapped this in Chinatown, NYC, and I did a little post-processing on it, but I just can't tell if it needs more or if I should just leave it as is. Any input is always appreciated.

I think it could do with a little more contrast and sharpening. I also reckon it might work well in B+W or with a bit of light desaturation. Nice shot.

with the right edits this could look like a frame pulled from one of those typical horror movies with like long black haired asian girls as the ghosts.

As you wish! I had this shot as well, but never worked on it. Not truly at the level of The Grudge, but hey...

I like the first shot compositionally very much. I think it cries for some kind of color adjustment... maybe yellowing or sephia. Possibly B&W. Theres a feeling in the composition like there is a longing... but for some reason the colors kill it.

Here, what about something like this?

I increased the yellows, added a touch of green.
I desaturated it quite a bit.
I also sharpened it a lot. The nice thing about this was the cook was SO out of focus that the sharpening had almost no effect on him but gave a bit of a hard egde to the boy and the ducks.

I think it brings a lot more emotion into an already very good shot. What do you think?

I'm not a fan of the edit Manaheim, the sharpening, yes, the colour.. not so much. Then again, I'm viewing on a horrible quality LCD so hey, could look completely different to me

Just scrolled back up to double check and as I caught sight of the ducks I instantly thought of the monsters from the movie "Alien"

They're about the right tint for it now

Yes, I understand you don't like it. I wrote this big post trying to explain it... trying to help you see a connection to the image as it is, but if you don't see it, you don't see it. C'est la vie.
