C&C please? Family Fun pose

It's cute, but it's not well executed. It may not be a print problem at 8x10, but it's going to feel really crowded in a frame.

I would have moved the kids to the right and taken the photo in landscape with more room. Cute idea tho!

I'm not really feeling this one, probably because I am not really into cutesy poses. But also there are several distractions. The first thing that really bothers me is the hair falling right down the middle of the one girls face. I keep thinking its snot or something, idk why, maybe because the way her hands are my brain thinks she is sneezing . Anyway, the other girl should have sat so the bottoms of her shoes were not visible. As mentioned, more room on sides and dads hand. Also I would raise exposure and adjust wb a little.

yeah, the hand in the pocket thing is definitely bothersome... he looks like he is doing you a favor by being there. And the bottom of the shoes also. It is a cute idea though. The hair doesn't really bother me, personally. They are kids, and they are outside... it seems natural that their hair would be a little messy, that's a personal preference.

I think the framing is good, although unorthodox. The subject is, oddly enough, the out of focus parents in the background, and they are well placed in the frame. I'm not loving the hand in the pocket either, but I'm not hating it. It does support a sort of casual semi-candid feel to the thing.

I'd do something to make the parents in the background stand out more. Maybe a touch of local contrast and/or saturation increase, just to draw the eye more there.

You all are wonderful!! Thank you for taking the time to comment. Excellent advice! I don't know how I missed the "hair snot". Thanks for that... looks so prominent now! I do struggle with framing and will work on that some more. And excellent edit Amolitor on bringing out the subjects more! And Paige.. as for the cutesy poses, I am a sap and one big cliché all wrapped in mommy goggles
