Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello,

I have been an active reader to TPF for sometime now. I would like some C&C please. Although I have read some pretty tough rooms here on TPF, it's the only way I am going to advance. I do not have PP as of yet, however I do have LR3. Equiment was a Nikon D2H, no flash 50mm 1.8. Fire away, and thanks in advance.

Also, considering this is my first of what will be many posts, how do I insert the image directly into the post? TY

cant see your image, but followed the link. I like the photo it has an element of mystery even though i know its a girl bowling. Welcome here and look forward to seeing more, and feel free to study the guides on how to make images appear on this website found right in this forum

You can use the img tag to post your pic right into the thread.

Now, what do you mean you don't have PP but you have LR3? Unless you mean something else, PP stands for Post Processing. Any edits you do once you import your pic is PP. So any tweaks you apply in LR3 is PP.

BTW - I like the shoes. Nice shot for a bowling alley ad if the heals were clean. Nice leading lines and effective use of focus.

I suggest you post 2 or 3 photos for C&C rather than ask people to go to a site and go through dozens or hundreds of photos.

Most people including me aren't going to check out your link.
Steve

I did use LR3, I do not have Photoshop Pro. I am working on getting adobes full version this month however. I was using Corel, but it's junk. It's the fastest way to turn a subject into a marvel superhero in my opinion.

@steve - Sorry about not linking the image. I thought the image tag I inserted would have shown the photo in the thread, not a link. I am researching how to do this properly now.

from photobucket you copy the image link thats located by the photo and paste it in your message window.

anytime you edit your photos whether its Lightroom 3, Photoshop, Aperture, etc its considered "POST PROCESSING" = PP that you will see in any posts. Looks like you were doing pretty good doing your Post Processing i have never used lightroom(any version) but have heard many good things of it

Good depth of field, love the exposure and contrast of the photo. I see that in the back is the bowling lane, I think it would be a better composition if it's at an edge of a lake or cliff. It would make it seems like she's taking a leap, chance and letting go to be free or something. Well at least for me anyways, I'm still a newbie as well so just my 2 cent.

Nah... it's the kind of thing a young girl would do as she is watching the ball approaching the pins. Especially someone new to bowling... it's that hopeful stance. What would make this a killer shot is a piece of a bowling ball in front of the pins.

I find it to be a confusion generating image. Since I don't like confusion I would move on quickly and pay it no more attention except for your request of c/c

I suggest that there is too little information in the photo. The only thoughts I get is that the person is about to fall over forward or is leaping. But why?

Why is the person in a very odd on the toes position?
Don't know - Photo does not reveal the answer to me - I move on and don't care anymore.

Somehow the answer needs to be conveyed. The photo lacks information and any mystery element is inadequate to pull it off as a mystery photo that "works"

Well that's why IMO there's no substance to the photo beside a girl on her toes and pins in front of her. There's no bowling ball rolling toward the pins. So a person looking at the photo would not have the idea right away. I admit I didn't think of that idea that's why I suggest a cliff or lake because it would show me something. Anyways like I said I'm a newbie so I don't know alot but I love composition. Don't know if my composition is right or not but hey just saying.
