C & C Please Newbie

I am very new to photography and am learning so much from this site. I have been reading , reading, reading but it is so much to take in - lol I could use all the C & C I can get - after seeing how great some of the photos on this site are its almost embarrasing putting my newbie shots up - lol

These two pics were take with the new lens I just got today. 50 mm 1.4

The 2nd one the coloring seems off to me on her cheeks - how would I correct that in the future? What else should I be doing different - Thank in advance

Oh, on #2, you could probably just a)lower the power of your flash and ISO or b)lose the flash all together and up the ISO.
