C&C per req:

1. It's a great shot of the windows.. I think I know what you were going for (The silhouette look) but it didn't work. There's too much light from the windows illuminating her front. Try moving to the left-hand side of the windows and shoot her from 90 deg or a little (very little) to the left.

2. Potential here; you needed to bring your main light up a half-stop or so, and add a kicker or reflector camera left just to reduce the shadows a little bit. I would also crop it a little higher so that the waistband of his shorts/trousers are removed.

3. Very nice; perphaps just a little dodging around the eyes to bring out a little more brightness? The "whites" of his eyes should really be white.

4. Cute. Your key was just a bit too hot, but other than that, the exposure is good. The squint is unfortunate however, and it would have been worth trying to coax a more 'wide-eyed' look out of her.

Just my $00.02 worth - your mileage may vary.

#1 I knew wasn't right but wasn't entirely sure what to change.

Thank you for the feedback, worked on it already..

How about this one? i think i'd prefer it on a white backdrop but wanted to get the body shape to stand out...

I forgot to put these ones in... Bit of random composition....

1. too bright, can't see her face, no "connection". I'm just not really "feeling" the photo at all...

2. his face is way too dark. If it wasn't so dark and I could actually see the details around his eyes, I'd like it more ;)

3. better, but when you have someone cross their arms like that, it gets tricky. He has an amputated hand and fingers coming out of his arm pit...

4. A topless little girl - not my cup of tea. I personally would never post a photo of my topless little girl over the age of 1 ANYWHERE that the general public can see it. Just my 2 cents on that one. Anywho, CC... Her hair is really bright, her skin is dark and has too much yellow in it...

5. I agree this is probably the best of your set... However, I feel like she's sitting on a toilet. IDK why, but that's just what the pose reminds me of.

6 & 7. They are just what you said, "random compositions". They are shots that I would consider "misfires" taken in a studio. Yeah, they're candids of (what I'm assuming is) siblings playing around. Nothing I'd frame and put up on my wall, personally.

#4, i didn't even think along the lines of a topless 2yr old in that way :/ but will definitely bear in mind what you have said.
I will never look at #5 in the same way again..... Lol!
Problem with 6 &7 is I was beginning to run out of wind trying to get a 4month old (who can't sit up) an 8 month old (who keeps crawling away) and a 2yr old (who can't sit still) to pose. If anybody has ANY suggestions on what to do in this situation that I would really appreciate idea's/feedback

Thanks :)

duck tape?

seriously though, I'm so far away from doing that sort of photography so take all this with a grain of salt, but what about props? when I used to take my kids for portraits, the photog would have a whole bunch of different props and keep rotating them around to keep the kids interested. sometimes a photog would bring an assistent to stand where he wanted the kids to look and they'd pull out puppets or sparkling things or whatever. and act like fools of course, but I think that comes with the territory when photographing kids.
