Photos OK to edit
I just posted a thread, but I didn't want to overload it with pictures, so here are a couple more!
Advice and criticism is much appreciated!

#1 & 4 are really nice :)

Why not? I'm just asking so I can get better, I'm new at this.

I think #3 would look better if the background was outside in an urban city, but then again I'm new to photography too so I could be wrong.

Good DoF on the shots.

For #1, you have this awesome pier in the background and your focus in on the sign? I'm sure you could have done a really nice landscape picture with some good compositional lines created by the pier.

#1 - I like the subject of this picture. However, it's a little boring to me. I think if you were to play with the angle that it was captured it would be much more exciting.

#2 - I love chocolate, but I'm not loving this picture. I do like your use of focus on the syrup.

#3 - I don't get it.

#4 - Cool picture.

I like 4 the best. 3 is good too but 4th has the best subject IMO
ok now go get some ice cream and use the hershey's to make me a sundae! :lmao:

none of these really do it for me.

I think its just that they don't do it for him is all. Its not that their bad photos at all. It's just a personal thing. Much like music or movies. Music (or songs) that you may like might not do anything for me and vice versa. Thats all it is.

Please correct me if im wrong here Dak. Im not trying to put words in your mouth, or speak for you. I just know thats how some photos are for me.. they just don't do anything for me.

#2 is way too contrasty, but the lighting was not ideal, so there may be a limit to what you could do with it.

#3 is interesting. I agree about the focus being on the counter and that being a distraction, but you could do a slight blur to counteract that. I don't think the glasses are too soft for this image to work, in fact they may be better that way as long as the counter is not sharper.

I like the composition and the style but it just doesn't tickle my fancy. Good pics though keep shooting
