Here are some shots I took and tried to add an "artistic" flair to them...No Photoshopping done, just the use of the basic Nikon picture editor. I would really love some comments and guidance.

1 - This shot was taken after sunset.


2 - This was taken at sundown by the Venice Canals


3 - This was taken in broad daylight through tree shade,but the ray of light just hitting the flower

I suggest you crop #3 to portrait orientation as you have way too much dead space.

Initially, I actually took shots that encompassed more of the picture - but then decided to zoom in to give more focus to the remnants of the Dock. I'll try another set of shots to see if I can improve the composition. thanks!

1: Believe the image here was under the pier shooting through the pilings. The shot here is just a shot that does not really make my attention go anywhere in particular.
2: Nothing there for me, bird is out of focus. Try coming up on the scene so the poles are lined up with where you think the subject will be and use them as a leading line going to the subject.

3: Someone already mentioned too much space, nothing wrong with hitting it with light using a reflector if mother nature is not working with you.
