Hi, I converted these pics. Please, let me know how to improve them. The #1 the tree on the left should have been avoided.

to me, the contrast is too much. There's little grey, it's all black or white. The whites look pretty good though

Should I have used grayscale conversion? I used gradient map. I'll try converting them to grayscale. Gray scale on PS shows a picture flat to me, but I need to try it again and do more adjustments. Thanks

#1.. shadows on her face are bad.. lighting is bad... that blurry tree on the left is terrible.

#2.. Missed focus! Subject is NOT sharp!

#3... meh! Lighting is bad.. highlight on shoulder, shadow on back

#4.. swamp.. so? Subject is????

I have converted these 2 with grayscale. Unfortunately, took these with a point and shoot, so real good pics, but I do like them.

If you're a pro, it doesn't matter whether you took these pictures with a P&S or DSLR. Why would you post them if they're not up to your standards, and then ask for C&C? Makes no rational sense. All your pictures suffer from very basic errors as CGipson1 pointed out.
