I'm trying to get good 3 dimensional ("non-flat"... in the words of dallasimagery :greenpbl:) lighting.

Also what is the rule... where is it good to cut body parts off?

Looks good. Would've liked to see a bit more detail in the surroundings of no.2. There isn't really a general rule for cutting of body parts, but hands, feet, parts of elbows and head and all that stuff is a no no.

thanks.. but I don't know what you mean... haha. What exactly is a no-no?

Very cute baby, I like the set up and lighting. My only concern is always the baby supporting it's own head at such an young age.
If you saw my maternity thread, I too will soon be doing a newborn shoot. Looking for ideas.

Edited my post ;)
Ok ok I get you know :)So for my last picture is cutting off at the hips ok? Should I have cropped higher or lower?

Lol are you talking about the mama spider???

Yeah the last crop is great! IMO anyways. I'm not a pro though.

The rule I learned about body parts is never cut off at a joint.

This! It makes the subject appear to be an amputee. I really like the last image, the Mom is looking at the baby with such love. I wish I could get that blanket fade, I just never can seem to get it "right" You got it!
