I find it interesting that you call it a " Devil's Horse " and parts of the southern US call it a " Snake Feeder " with the accompanying wives' tail that it surely means a snake is nearby. I grew up fearing these little creatures. On a side note, my wife associates one as her departed Mum visiting her :)

Every time I see one close up I have to try and photograph it. They scared me as a kid, also. I always thought the tail had a huge stinger in it.
