Hello!

Recently, I've bought a motion sensor (Opteka LTX80) to give my first steps on camera trapping with my Canon 800d. The cable that came with the sensor is too short to allow me to position the sensor where I want it. So, I would like to buy an extension but I'm very lost on the options! Would it be possible to use a cable meant for audio (like AUX) ? I guess the answer should be no...But I couldn't find many options on ebay. I think the diameter of the port is 3.5 mm.
Thank you!

If it's a standard 3.5mm plug cord, an audio cord should work just fine. I use inexpensive audio cords as extensions for my flash triggers all the time. It might matter whether it's mono, stereo, etc, depending on how many signals are sent, but if you get the right type, I'm guessing it will work fine.

post a photo of the two plug ends

Thank you for the replies :)
Here is an image of the plug end (they are both the same). I'm actually not certain if it is 3.5 mm.

Bog-standard stereo cable; either 3.5mm or 2.5mm (can't tell for certain). If it plugs into a generic headphone port on your MP3 player, stereo, laptop, 'phone, etc, than it's 3.5mm and you can get suitable cables almost anywhere.
