Hello there.
I have a D5100 and I'm looking for a large bag so I can carry the camera and all my lenses and accessories around. At the moment I've got a small bag where I can put only my camera and a little lens.
I was going to buy this http://www.amazon.co.uk/AmazonBasic...d=1392218107&sr=8-7&keywords=amazonbasics+bag
but reviews says that it's not that big. I'll probabily put all my equip in there.
Long story short, I need a bag that fits:
D5100
18-55mm VR
(probably I'll change this with a 16-85mm VR in a few months)
55-300mm VR
35mm f1/8
A medium flash
cables, remote control, batteries, sd cards ecc.
And maybe a tripod

Something not too expensive.
I found the lowerpro 180 aw while looking around in a local shop and it's pretty good but something a little bigger would be better. And anyway it's a little expensive.
Thanks!

For me, a shoulder bag is good for carrying

- One camera body with one lens mounted.
- One additional lens. It can be a fast prime, macro or telephoto zoom. Just not a HUGH lens.
- One external flash.
- Some filters such as ND or CPL
- Extra batteries and other small accessories.

If I plan to carry more items, I prefer a backpack since it can hold more items and most important is the even weight distribution on both shoulders.

So you think I should go with a backpack? I dunno everytime I see a backpack it seems too big for what I have to carry. Anyway I'll give a look to the backpacks too. Any suggestions?

Lowepro makes a good set of fastpacks that are small and easy to use.

Best,
Jake

I love my mountainsmith pack. It gets more use than my Pelican camera bag and almost as much as my 5.11 pack when I'm not shooting.

I like my Crumpler 5 million dollar bag. I usually carry my 5100 w/ zoom, 1 additional lens (35mm), spare battery, a couple of filters, tabletop tripod, small stuff (cards, lens cloths etc.). Sometimes I add my compact zoom Sony if my daughter is along and will want to take some shots too. That pretty much fills it if I want to leave room for my phone and my id/credit card. If you need to fit a flash too, you may need to go 6 million dollars or the "Enthusiast" Amazon.com: Crumpler The Enthusiast Bag EST001-B00G50: Electronics

If it's too big for what you have now, don't worry, you'll grow into it. I use Amazon.com: Tamrac 5549 Adventure 9 Photo/Computer Backpack (Grey/Black): Camera & Photo

I was going to say the same thing. That being said, the one I got that could hold everything now is primarily a storage place. We have gone full circle and now use smaller bags. Strange hobby I tell you!

JacaRanda, I looked at that 7x and it is cool.

OP, the one thing if you are going to carry a backpack. I would suggest that you make sure that it has the buckle that clips in front of your chest. It makes a HUGH difference for me when walking around.
