Camera wear and tear protection - Delkin etc

Q) Walking-around camera protection - camera on a strap (B.Rapid).

What do you guys use to protect your camera against abrasions/knocks etc. Do you use those Delkin skins or something else.

I turned around on a crowed street sidewalk and gave my camera/lens one hell of a whack against the brick building - easy to do.

This to the best of my ability, but really, I don't concern myself overly with it. Cameras are tools; they're meant to be used, and picking up a few battle scars along the way is fine. No different than a painter dropping his brush in the dirt really.

Never expect to actually use a camera for 2-3 years, or a lens for 8-10, and have it end up in 'showroom' condition. It's the same way with a new car. You can park in the furthest spot from the store at the mall... out where NO ONE parks even during the holiday crunch.... and you'll still get door dings.

I don't care what my gear looks like. As long as it produces the results I want, the outward appearance is meaningless to me.
