You also might want to look at the nikon D40x or Cannon digital rebel. The nice thing about these is you can get them and when you buy lenses for them, most of the time you will be able to use those lenses on a better camera of the same brand if u ever decide to upgrade. So also if you do plan to upgrade, maybe look at the other models of camera of the same brand to see if one of those would suit your tastes later. Ebay is a fine place to get cameras. Just make sure the seller has a good feedback rating, and also make sure they have some kind of return policy so if the camera has something wrong with it you can return it. You can get some great deals as long as your careful and smart about it. Also, you might want to look at the Nikon D50. Its older then the D40 but has an autofocus motor in the body. You will probably have to get it used but its worth checkin out.
