I was out camping last night and had the campfire going. So I thought I'd take some photos. Then I started playing around as I realized it was nothing more than light painting. So I started zooming in, or out, or in and out. Then instead of rotating the zoom ring I would rotate the camera for zooming in and out. Then I would move the camera. walk around some or part of the fire, which also maybe zooming in and/or out. I basically had fun.

Some of these looked really weird looking on the LCD as one looked like a Phoenix bird on fire, another like a skeleton head, and another like the grime reaper. Well, when I brought them into lightroom they didn't quite look like that. Lucky me !!

Here's a few for your C&C

#2 is my favorite here.

#3 Looks awesome, I want to try this sometime!

Oh good! You are not Sicboi. LOL!!!
I think #1 looks kinda boring, because the right image is in patterned or cascaded.
The #2 and #3 look more spiritual.
The rests look more like alien species.
These look interesting, and thanks for sharing. I'm going to try that sometimes.

#3 reminds me of Back to the Future-the flaming tire marks. Cool idea. Nicely done-usually when I see these kinds of things, people didn't bother with thinking about the actual photo and there's blue faces and other random crap in the shot. These were thought out and well done.

Thanks everyone.
It was fun experimentation. And new concepts. I never thought of rotating the camera for zooming until I did this. But it is a concept I'm going to try on other things during the day.

I noticed that keeping the fire small so there was separation between flaming areas provided the best results. This is a shot of the firepit itself before I got into the zooming/rotating stuff.
