So, I put my holiday photos on a maxell photo CD-R. I put the CD in my computer and compared the photo from the CD and the photo straight from my computer and the colors are not as vivid and contrasted. Is it possible that the photo CD washed out the colors some? If so, can someone recommend a good photo CD that will keep all the detail and color?
I can't imagine any media changing the quality of what's put on it. As Mike asked, how did you view each?
Seems unlikely the CD shouldn't do anything to the color. Open them both in the same program and see if you get the problem again. GL tj
No, its impossible for the media to have caused the change. Any change in the image quality occurred in your computer. The probable culprit is the software you used to burn the CD. If if created a true "Photo CD", rather than a data CD holding image files, it would have had to convert your original images to a different format. The quality change probably occurred in this conversion, though it is possible that it is occurring in the viewing software. If your so-called "Photo-CD" contains a movie or slide show app or data file it is certain that the images were reprocessed during the CD creation process. Again, this reprocessing could be causing the quality change as well as the viewing software.
