Can anyone help me with taking self portraits with a dslr

It is really not that difficult. The simplest solutions are always the hardest to come up with. What I do is set up my camera on a tripod, see where I am going to be for the shot. Take the camera off the tripod, stand on my mark, focus on the tripod, put the camera back on the tripod and take the shot with a remote.
